Marilee Hall Ceramics
I make sculpture, sculptural vessels and wall constructions by hand building with coils, slabs and extrusions, sometimes building onto an armature, which is removed before work is fired. I use a midrange white clay body, fired to cone 04. To bisque-fired work I add oxide washes and multiple layers of underglazes and specialty glazes, employing single and multiple firings in an oxidation atmosphere.
My work employs whimsy and refers to folklore and story.
