Appalachian Center for Craft

Tennessee Tech University

The Appalachian Center for Craft's Artist in Residence Program (AIR) allows skilled, emerging professional artists to live and work in its immersive studio environment on campus in Smithville, Tennessee. Artists in Residence typically have their BFA, MFA or professional equivalent. AIRs are integral to the educational programs of the Craft Center, providing additional artistic perspectives, expertise and experiences to our students; assisting faculty in maintaining studios; teaching at the college-level, in outreach programs and in the workshop program; and expanding their own artistic skill and voice. Artists represented at Art Prowl 2021 include Ian Mabry, Rebecca Smith, Tate Newfield, Kevin Dotson, & Lexie Moore.
