Jessica Hagar, JRose Textile Arts
Jessica Rose Hagar grew up in the town of McMinnville, Tennessee. It was there that she found a love for art through community art programs. She began her college career at Tennessee Technological University desiring to teach art on a professional level. She soon realized how much she enjoyed working in the Fibers studio at the Appalachian Center for Craft in Smithville, TN and decided to also acquire a BFA in Textiles. She has been nationally nominated for a NICHE Award three times for her work in textiles. Jessica has received the Bacchanal Art Scholarship as well as a URECA Grant for an Internship in New York City with Kordal Knitwear. She is very involved in the artist community in Nashville Tennessee and is an active member in organizations such as Tennessee Craft, and the Nashville Fashion Alliance. She is currently the Fibers Artist-in-Residence at the Appalachian Center for Craft. She is also the creator and owner of JRose Textile Arts, where she designs and makes hand woven and dyed wearable and decorative Fiber Art. Her work can be found in galleries throughout Middle Tennessee and California. Jessica also teaches Art, Sewing, and Photography in Cookeville, TN.
